Visiting Schools

Finding YCI target schools to volunteer at in your area can be a difficult process, and liaising with these schools to host workshops can pose even more challenges. In order to first identify which schools in your area would benefit most from YCI workshops, you can view a list of Title 1 eligible schools and identify those closest to you. Title 1 eligible schools are those where students from low-income families make up at least 40 percent of the student body. Students from these schools tend to have significantly fewer opportunities in STEM available to them when compared to their peers.

Once you have identified a school to volunteer at, you or your sponsor can first try directly contacting the faculty at the school. If this does not work, you can contact us to help set up the first workshop or even partner with other local non-profits also geared towards youth education.
